Munich gets the Marseille treatment…
By: Magnusson | May 1st, 2008
A few months back, Marseille was eliminated by the Zenit St.Petersburg and everybody, me included, thought we should have won despite the russians’ domination. Marseille was ridiculed for failing once again at this stage of the competition against an Eastern European team. We looked like world class choke-artists. But today I have to take back all the negative things I have said. Zenit St.Petersburg is now the favorite to win this year’s UEFA Cup. They just humiliated Bayern Munich in Saint Petersburg by winning 4-0 after a 1-1 draw in the first leg. After having watched the extensive highlights, I feel much better about our own shortcomings. Munich went there thinking they would win it easy, and they didn’t, same as we did. Sorry for underestimating the russian side, who are quickly becoming a fan’s favorite after beating us, Villareal, Leverkusen and now Munich. They will be facing the scottish Rangers in the first European fianl of their history.
Good luck to them then…

Like I always say, if you’re going to be booted from a tournament, it’s not so bad when it’s the eventual winner (at least I hope Zenit wins, anything besides those anti-football Rangers).

The coach has a lot to do, but also the money. I mean when Arshavin ( who didn’t even play last night) was supposed to go to Chelsea, they gave him the same salary Chelsea was ofering him. This team, as much as Shaktar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiyv will be forces to be reckined with. Now that they have oligarchs at their helm, they will be able to get the best stadiums, coaches and players their money can buy.
