Well it’s tricky. The budget was set aty something around that mark. But that was before the Champions League spot was secured, before Djibril Cisse, Gael Givet, Zubar and Ziani sales. And that was also before the 46 million of TV revenue came in. So with Luchop Gonzalez bought at 18 million, Diaara at around 6-8, Cissé (Edouard) coming in for free, it must be 40 million left. I think enough to get M’bia, and a top-tier striker, without forgetting salary reevaluations for Niang and some other key players.
I’ll look into it and give you a better answer.

I seem to remember a quote from Pape Diouf sometime around January saying that if teams are interested in Cana, the price would be 20+ million. Which makes it sound like the club was looking for 15-18 million. Certainly the new regime doesn’t value Cana so much less that they would sell for 5 million.

Don’t listen to rumors. Hamburg have been entertaining Cana for a long time and Deschamps may have not liked him back then but he apparently talked to him before he left to tezll him he needed him next year. Just imagine a Gonzalez Cana Cheyrou midfield. Jeez;
Anyway, to shpow you his commitment to the club, Cana who was supposed to come in next monday was already there on monday with all the players and cut his vacation short to know evryone and behave like a real captain.
So we’ll see, but supporters wouldn’t accept him leaving for 5 million, especially for a player i consider inferior in terms of consistency.
We’ll have to see

Valbuena said he will stay and fight for his place. So it’s still not clear if he will stay or leave.

I doubt that Cana would leave Marseille for Hamburg– He would probably only leave for a bigger club or at least one of the English clubs. I also think 5M is a little under priced…..

Also, any word on where Valbuena is going?? Was he at the first day of training? I know he said he was going to leave after speaking to Deschamps, but I haven’t seen any news on him in a while?
