The wild Vagner Love rumor…
By: Magnusson | October 18th, 2007
According to Tutto Mercato, the first name Eric Gerets gave his new bosses when he took over at the Commanderie was that of brazilian phenom Vagner Love.
The 23 year-old who’s tied to CSKA Mocow until 2011 and who had a more than impressive Copa America this summer plans to leave the russian side as soon as January and would apparently only be interested in France, Portugal and Spain, discouraging Serie A heavyweights like Fiorentina and As Roma (who have been actively flirting with him since last summer). As any self respecting Russian club, CSKA have told anyone willing to listen that the price for the colored-cornrows sporting man was for 10 million Euros.
I don’t know who we’ll be selling this winter but to get that guy, we’ll have to still be in the Champions League, in a much better position domestically and financially. I can’t see this happening yet but who knows.

I don’t know about Vagner Love. Despite Dunga’s continuing hard on for him, he’s like a less effective version of Cisse. I honestly think he’s one of those players whose reputations are bigger than their talent.

Man, you commenters are so unclear. Can’t we just have a general consensus?

The consensus must be that he’s overrated. Good but not worth the 10 million euros. Apparently his teammates are quite fond of him so I guess he’s not a basket case a la Adriano. But I’d rather we by Menez or someone else for that much.
