The Humberto Suazo rumors were fake…

By: Magnusson | July 23rd, 2008

A few moments ago, our reader Alex left a comment saying taht he reads mexican newspaper El Norte every day and that the Monterey paper never published such a headline. Wich led me to try and verify how that could be, seen as this rumour was huge last week and that it was relayed by the Daily Mail, France Football and L’Equipe, houses known for their thorough investigations in general or at least journalistic integrity. The rumor was so big it prompted José Anigo to comeout in the press and say that nothing serious was happening.
Well the truth is, nothing never happened. Suazo was one of the players Anigo liked when he went to the Americas last year but the first contact was apparently the last, the player’s wagers in Mexico way too big at the time. We settled on Krupoviesa and bought Matt Moussilou.
The other thing is the cover I published was actually photoshoppe by a memeber of a forum I frequent and who happens to be generally very well informed. He confessed earlier and explained why and how everything happened. hats off to him for fooling everyone and my apologies for the “fake” news.

Magnusson – I comb through El Norte everyday as well and while I never saw the headline, the “rumour” wasn’t necessarily false but part of an entire grouping of stories of Chupete. His goal-scoring ability and desire to play in the European stage is linking him to a number of teams but it is unclear whether he’d move-on. In my opinion it is one of those stories of things always looking better on the other side of the street though and I think he’d regret leaving México. Now as far as the photoshop situation – lol..I guess you know not to trust him.

Yeah the rumour may have not been totally false as we’ve seen his name a few times already (his and Palacio’s are pretty popular in Marseille fan forums).
But I didn’t say it was a rumour, I said he may have signed after France Foot said so and stuff. i don’t usually verify much when my RSS Feeds go off like this.

Quite funny, we’re visiting the same forum. You have my email address, if you like send me an email and I’ll direct you to other information sites you may like. However I had no idea France Football claimed he was signed – that is ridiculous. Oh well, let me know if you get to the matches btw as I get to quite a few.

es una farsa, ademas lo que quiere pagar el olimpique no cubre la clausula de recision de contrato estipulada por el Club de Futbol Monterrey asi que SORRY!!! NO SE LES HARA VER A CHUPETE EN FRANCIA.
