José Anigo called Bruno Metsu……

By: Magnusson | September 20th, 2007

r_metsu_i1.jpgI don’t know what to say anymore about José Anigo. he was an adequate enough coach to get us to the UEFA Cup final a few years ago but his constant plotting and conniving has just become ridiculous. The man who many have considered to be the main liaison of the “Marseillaise Mafia” and their inside man has just brought backstabbing to a new height. After having said in the same interview that “[He] would never replace Albert Emon” and that ” Sure, [he] miss[es] the pitch. Of course [he] want[s] to coach again in Marseille. And maybe if Albert leaves on his own, [he]‘d always be willing to help the club out”. Now apparently after actively courting Didier Deschamps for the last two weeks, and being faced ith the fact that Robert Louis-Dreyfuss doesn’t want to finance the recruitment of another coach, Le Parisien revealed yesterday thatJosé Anigo (and Pape Diouf) have called Bruno Metsu up to feel him out and see if he would be willing to come to the Commanderie.
For those of you with a short memeory, Bruno Metsu is the last of the “white sorcerers” as they call them in Africa. He was the coach responsible for Sénégal’s (My home country) amazing display at the 2002 World Cup when they beat France in the opening game.
Don’t get me wrong, I will forever respect the man who brought us to the quarter finals of the most important of all competitions but Bruno Metsu will fail miserably in Marseille. Now before this gets too far, let’s nip it in the bud and stop talking about it.

Dumb move by Anigo. It’s still September. If it were November or December, that would be one thing.

Emon has enough time to pull Marseille up. And Marseille will go up. It takes a while sometimes because despite the high quality of recruits, there’s a lot of pressure riding on them, and the booing doesn’t help either.

    I’m pretty sure OM won’t become PSG v. 2.

Terrible though that Diouf and Anigo are going behind Emon’s back. That’s disrespectful considering all that Emon has done for the club.

Hello . We are Marseilles fans living in London. We are coming to Marseilles in December and want to get tickets for the home fixture v. Monaco. We cannot get tickets on-line from the official OM site as we do not have a French address – do you know if there will be tickets on sale on the night? You can contact me at hobson@london.com – Thanks!

As Auxerre beat Marseille (who are playing, curiously, in Auxerre’s 3rd strip), I think we can expect Bruno Metsu and José Anigo to breath down Emon’s neck…

Helf an hour left to play, and Marseille are 2-0 down.
