Match Preview: OM vs. Zurich (Game 4, Champion’s League)

By: Sarah | Comments 14 Comments

A little inspiration– the celebration after Heinze’s winning goal in game 3.
I can’t believe we are already at game 4 in Europe– it seems like just yesterday I was in shock at our group competition.  Given our first few performances, I gather OM was shocked as well (1-2 thus far in the group stage…and the [...]

Mandanda to Bayern?

By: Richard | Comments 9 Comments

Sarah and I have certainly had a lot to write about with this whole swine flu debacle and it seems the news keeps on coming for OM. Reports are now that the Bavarian giants Bayern Munchen have set their sights on our very own Mandanda. Over the summer Bayern made a slew of summer signings [...]

Swine Flu Almost Disrupted the Classico

By: Sarah | Comments No Comments

The Classico was almost postponed after two PSG players were diagnosed with the swine flu.  These are the second and third cases of swine flu to be diagnosed in Ligue 1 after Emir Spahic (Montpellier) contracted the disease in August.  The PSG players are reported to be midfielder Ludovic Giuly and defender Mamadou Sakho.

It’s time for a confrontation between Hatem and Stephane…

Match Preview: Zurich vs. Marseille

By: Sarah | Comments 2 Comments

Game three of the Champion’s League Group Stage is upon us, and this game is basically try or die for OM.  Having lost their first two games against Milan (2-1, home) and Real Madrid (3-0, away), OM has to start winning some points to challenge for second or third place.  Marseille’s group only has one [...]

First, lets get the bad news over with…
Niang reportedly suffered a bad sprain in his knee in training yesterday. The OM medical staff are not optimistic that he will be able to recover before Nancy.

OM vs. Nîmes– Finally a Win!

By: Sarah | Comments 4 Comments

Since the Ligue is officially on a break for the international games, OM organized a game with Ligue 2 team Nîmes on Friday for the players who weren’t called away on national duty. We also did this again Monaco at the last break, and that loss seemed to put us on a downward spiral [...]
