Is Ben Arfa the new Niang?
By: Sarah | October 31st, 2009
Apparently he is the only one who thinks so! For those who watched the game this afternoon between OM and Toulouse, you may have noticed a delay that kept HBA from entering the game immediately. When he stripped off his tracksuit to get ready to enter, he revealed the jersey number– 11 with Niang written across the back of the shirt. Deschamps was apparently not too pleased and assistant coach Guy Stéphan was finally successful in finding the correct jersey. The press are reporting that during this debacle, Hatem sat on the bench smiling. I haven’t found a picture or video clip yet– if you have any let me know!
Ugh, he does nothing to help himself sometimes (read: all the time)!

Did he at least play well?

Well, I will discuss it more in the review, but he played okay. Constantly looked like a danger, but never really managed to be dangerous. He fumbled a real chance at the end of the second half. He couldn’t quite get control over the ball.

Why are all keepers in such inspired form against OM? First Ruffier now Blondel.
Look forward to the review.

Any update on Lucho?

Dave, what I’m reading is it’s a twisted ankle and he’s out for the CL match.

@Dave: I’ve heard the same thing as Laurie– they think it is a bad twist at this point that could have him out for up to 4 weeks. However, he is undergoing more tests today so we should have more information soon.

Great eye-catching headline Sarah. I was ready to type “non, non, et non” but then i saw what it was really about.
If this was deliberate, i see more bench-time for young Hatem lol..
