These players are gone…

images.jpgSalim Arrache - On December 28th, an agreement has been found between Marseille and Toulouse for the loan of left-winger Salim Arrache who has not been playing enough according to his tatses. We can concurr with him that he was supposed to play a lot more this year but with the recruitment of Bolo Zenden and the explosion of Dédé Ayew, Arrache didn’t have much to be hopeful for, given his health and current form (He’s been particularly disappointing against Lille lately). The loan will be of six months and may be the boost Salim needed to get back to his Strasbourg level. The Marseille native and Algerian international played in seven Ligue 1 games this season, for 190 minutes and made 3 outings in the UEFA Champions League. Let’s hope the next six months are good for him. So long Salim.

images2.jpgVincent Gragnic - On December 29th, Marseille and Troyes came to an agreement for the loan of midfielder Vincent Gragnic for six months as well. This will be a loan without the possibility to buy the kid who has been complaining of his lack of playing time and who even took out his frustration on Jacques Faty, leaving Eric Gerets really REALLY unhappy, going as far as to say that if he was frustrated, he should run 10 kilometers. The former Libourne Saint-Seurin player only played 67 minutes this season and hopes to get a lot more playing time at the ESTAC.

images3.jpgFabrice Fiorèse - Now this was a long time coming. Fabrice Fiorèse was in the Commanderie in what was dubbed the “Loft” by Peggy Luyindula (since the training room which has a view so beautiful it looked like the original set of Big Brother France that was called “le Loft”). The last time we heard from Fiorèse, he was given a chance by Eric Gerets and scored twice, giving an assist against Bastia. But Fio knew he would never play again for Marseille as long as José Anigo was up there. It’s better for everyone that this locker room cancer is gone. Good riddance and good luck to him and Amiens. His contract has been annuled and both parties decided to part ways. He scored in his first game for them.

    Mag,

Congragulations to you guys for getting Kanga Akale from us at Lens. Boy, what difference in organizations. You guys get one of our best players who was wasting away on Papin’s cold bench. No wonder we are in the relegation zone.

I just find it incredible that anyone in Ligue 1 could want Arrache. He was an average winger at Strasbourg, and since he joined Marseille he’s been nothing else than bad. So Toulouse must really be in a shitstorm to want him, I think.

On the other hand, Fiorèse’s sale is just… strange. Sure, he isn’t near to Nasri, Valbuena and Cana’s level. But he’s at least able to fight with Zenden, Ayew, M’Bami, Ziani, Oruma and Cheyrou for a place on the bench or an “unsure” starting position… I wonder what he did to annoy the Marseille management, because it’s strange to see a player play for the reserves, score twice, set up a goal and be praised for his great game, and then never play again…

I always considered Fiorese a good player, someone who could chip in with goals and provide the odd amount of assists, but most importantly, be under the opposing teams radar when it came to man marking. The whole PSG-Marsielle thing was strange, but to not give him a chance at all? He has to be better then Zenden, I think I am!

Ehh. These losses won’t hurt you guys at all. About Fiorese, it could be that he’s a lazy player and has never impressed at training. I mean, if he had any potential, OM would have played him at least a few times by now, especially given their not so great table position.

I actually think fabrice Fiorèse is a great players but he has many problems. Thinking he’s god’s gift to foorball is one of those. He’s always impressive at trainings as Eric Gerets said himself but the fact that he spat on the Yankees (One of mrseille’s most powerful utra groups) when he was playing for paris is one of the reasons why Anigo hates his guts. One of the reasons Marseille wanted him was to get the Malouda-Drogba-Fiorese trio that was so efficient at Guingamp. That never happened.
Also let’s not forget Fiorese is the definition of locker-room cancer. Good Riddance actually even though the player could have helped some.

Just pointing out that Fiorèse scored on his début for Amiens, in a 2-1 win over Guingamp in the Coupe de France. Guingamp are 10 places above Amiens in the current Ligue 2 table.

    yeah that’s what I said
He scored in their first game for them
But that’s the fiorese special. Remember when he scored twice in Paris with Lorient a few years back?
