Matt Moussilou, 122 minutes later….
By: Magnusson | November 12th, 2007
We were talking about it a few days ago and now it’s done. Marseille has freed some space in their payroll now that Matt Moussilou has been oficially loaned to Qatari club Al Arabi with a possibility for them to buy him if he manages to make it in the always very competitive and challenging Qatari League, the Q-League. This new adventure is sure to be the most challenging yet for the stiker.
After ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO full minutes of playing time at Marseille, Moussilou was put back on the market, Eric Gerets gave him the whole “It’s not you, It’s me” speech and it was mutually agreed that light orange was just not his colour . It seems red is more like it. Let’s hope he finds his efficiency at the earliest so that he’ll be able to play in the even more challenging Emirati league.
Matt Moussilou was welcomed as the world-class striker he still is, by the Chairman of the club, the Sheikh Falah bin Jassem Al-Thani at Doha’s International Airport last night while his then already ex-teammates were facing Lyon. He signed his contract this morning and has already had a training session this afternoon.
Let it be said that Moussilou will succeed such legends as Dennis Oliech, Giuseppe “Beppe” Signori, Taribo West, Stefan Effenberg and Gabriel Batistuta in the team roster. The only difference between him and them is that he’s obviously in it for the long haul, coming at the very young age of 25 while his predecessors only saw the appeal of the club later in their careers, around their mid-thirties. Matt Moussilou wants to write the history of his new club and honor his new fans.
Good riddance luck to him.

I read that they might replace him with Daniel Moreria ! That just can’t be true.

Moreira? No way. Anigo’s in Argentina checking out what’s going on there right now.

Yeah, Moreira is just trying to get his price up. He’s not playing at rennes and says Anigo always liked him. That was true thre years ago. Why would we buy some 30 year old who’s injured.
Anigo’s in Argentina but him going there is not necessarily great news. He bought Christian Gimenez after all.Posted from

Moreira is just coming back from injury. I doubt DrĂ©ossi wants him to leave, since Rennes need a bit more offensive cover. And he could even put Briand back on the bench, like last season…

Gimenez. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Remember André Luiz and Mendoza? Maybe he should just leave the continent altogether.

Sam, don’t remind me.
No seriously, don’t remind me.
Mendoza!, “el condor”. He was supposed to be the big striker that would make us forget drogba. Guess what? he scored twice and went back to Ukraine.
Actually, you gave me an idea. I should do a little feature on the players we recruited in the last few years that turned out to be duds.Posted from
