With our defenders Julien Rodriguez and Ronald Zubar injured (thigh for the former and ankle for the latter) and Jacques Faty still not totally recovered from his injury (it was incredibly evident on wednesday and Eric Gerets was smart enough to pull him out before hurting him any more), Lorik Cana will be playing in central defense alongside Gaël Givet. Charles Kaboré, who impressed EVERYONE against Spartak Moscow wednesday takes over the Captain’s spot in the midfield and will have the heavy task of containing Clement Chantome and Jeremy Clement. He’ll be paired in the midfield with Benoit Cheyrouand Mathieu Valbuena who will be in a little more forward leaning mood than his two other teammates. Our two strikers are the usual suspects, Mamadou Niang and Djibril Cissé who will both be highly motivated to prove themselves in such a high-profile match. Even more so for Djibril Cissé who knows he could have his spot locked for this summer’s Euro if he shines tonight. Behind them will be Samir Nasri, trying to start over his season once more. Behind, Taye Taïwo and Laurent Bonnart will be on the sides. Taïwo has been playing out of his mind since he came back from the African Cup of Nations. This needs to continue.
