Marseille dominates at UNFP trophies, haters get mad…
By: Magnusson | May 14th, 2008Oh you mad cause we stylin’ on you? That should be my new answer.
I’m super busy these days with exams and all and I’mma keep it quick but all I’ve been hearing these days is how it’s unfair that six of our players have been elected by their peers in the Ligue 1 Best XI. And when I say everybody, I mean everybody. Everybody is mad that the team that’s only fourth in the standings is geting so much shine.
Let’s look at it this way, Marseille took 4 points in the first nine games of the season and given our per game results, if Eric Gerets came any earlier, we would have ben champions a few weeks ago. I’m not saying it, mathematics are. Aside from that, let’s be real and keep it one hundred percent funky, the only player that stands controversy on the list is Taye Taïwo who has been known to mess up but who just needed that Krupovieisa boost to become a all-around beast. So here is the palmares, let me know what you think.
Of course Inara gave a more complete opinion on the snoozefest as her two baby boys were given the two most impotant trophies. I’m pretty sure she’ll have to record that Auxerre game since the Arsenal deal seems to be done.
Karim Benzema (Olympique Lyonnais)
Hatem Ben Arfa (Olympique Lyonnais)
Steve Mandanda (Olympique de Marseille)
Mathieu Valbuena (Olympique de Marseille) during OM-Caen
Steve Mandanda (Olympique de Marseille)
Laurent Bonnart(Olympique de Marseille)
Puygrenier (Nancy),
Vitorino Hilton (Lens),
Taye Taiwo(Olympique de Marseille)
Jérémy Toulalan (Olympique Lyonnais)
Benoît Cheyrou (Olympique de Marseille)
Mathieu Valbuena (Olympique de Marseille)
Geraldo Wendel (Bordeaux)
Mamadou Niang(Olympique de Marseille)
Karim Benzema (Olympique Lyonnais)
Laurent Blanc (Bordeaux)

If only football were mathematical.. Then the fact Lyon lost to l’OM but beat Bordeaux twice would have made Bordeaux lose at Marseille, non? I don’t think you can predict the result of Eric Gerets coming to Marseille earlier.. you never know, probably the so-so form they have right now would have kicked in earlier. And as far as I know, Bordeaux has gathered more points than Marseille since the arrival of Eric Gerets.
Of course, he managed to turn a losing team into a winning team, but that was very quick, and I’m still wondering about his capacity to keep the results high on the long run.Posted from

set - Check your facts again. Marseille got 2.14 points ever since gerets came in. We would be at 81 points right now. That would have made us champions.
Inara - I have the odd feeling I won’t be seeing Nasri next year either. But watch the Auxerre game and keep it tucked in your dvr or something.

I’m checking..
According to wikipedia he arrived to Marseille on September 25.. That’s right before the tenth game.According to this : http://www.football365.fr/resultats/indexResultat.shtml
They got 52 points in 28 games since then.. That’s 1,85 points. With 1,85 points / game, that’s 68 points in 37 games… 6 less than BordeauxPosted from
