Mamadou Niang signs for another three years…
By: Magnusson | February 19th, 2008
Good news, people, great news actually. Mamadou Niang signed a three-year extension to a contract that was supposed to end in 2009. The senegalese striker arrived from Strasbourg during the 2005 season and has always scored at least 10 goals but it is undeniable that he just reaced another dimension this year with 16 goals in all competitions and it’s only january. One of the front-runners for Player of the Year, Mamdou is very happy at Marseille and we’ve been very happy with him lately.
After Mathieu Valbuena earlier this year, this is the second major extension signed by Team Diouf/Anigo this season. This is great news for Marseille fans everywhere and a first step in Geret’s’s project to keep eevryone at marseille for next year. Lorik Cana is actually parlaying his own personal contract and could be signing a lifetime one. The captain has said recently that he doesn’t plan on going anywhere and is very happy to be the leader of this team. This is all great to hear but I know most of you want to know about Samir. Well Smair hasn’t said anything yet but Pape Diouf did. I’ll read the new issue of France Football and keep you updated.

You know, I have this theory. If Niang were French, playing for Lyon, or called Cisse, he’d get a lot more publicity. I honestly think he’s one of the best attacking players in L1. I’m thrilled he’s sticking with Marseille for a while longer.
Any news on Nasri’s contract?

hi i didn’t know where else i could ask this but i just wanted to ask about this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPnxU1oHsNQ) apparantly it’s samir nasri’s younger brother. but i’m not sure if it’s true. does he have a younger brother, and if so is it him in the video?

I really don’t think it’s his brother. First of all, the guy speaks french with an algerian accent and even though Samir is from algerian decent, he talks with an accent from Marseille. PLus this guy talks reckless, just stupid and says his name is Ousman Nasri. The only name I remember from Samir’s baby bother was Walid and he plays for our youth teams.
