Happy Birthday Charles Kaboré!

Just what exactly is going on here?

A very happy birthday as Charles Kaboré turns 22 years old today. If you’re wondering as to why out of all OM players I’ve decided to make an article for Kabore well I’m trying something new for the blog. Basically it give me the excuse to talk about an individual player when its their birthday. Their performance thus far and what we as fans like/dislike about them.

So as for Kabore I only have nothing but positive things to say about the guy. To me he is a player than can be on the bench for five or six games and all of a sudden when he is called upon, he plays as if he’s been a starter forever. His ability to come off the bench and automatically sync up with the teams play is a huge asset. This is a player with a bright future ahead of him, and I think DD has done well to include him in the starting eleven from time to time. Yes it may have angered some fans to see him start over the likes of Cheyrou and others but you don’t gain any experience riding the bench. So once again a very happy birthday to Charles and I hope to see more from him in 2010! Be sure to read Kabore’s latest interview here

    Joyeux anniversaire Charles!

I liked your idea of doing articles on reserve individuals from time to time. Gives a good idea of the whole squad.

I agree with your assessment- I like Kabore and I wish he got more playing time. I think he is also a positive figure in the dressing room. Whenever I see the team in candid settings, he is always joking around and jovial!

a lot of this is probably due to the fact that he’s still really, really young while being around a group of guys in their late 20’s (for the most part). there is nothing wrong with it and every club needs a guy like this.

I agree Aditya, it is a great idea for keeping us posted on non “Main Story” headlines. His spirit is a must have for any team, and as time goes on, he will only mature and see more playing time. He has a bright future ahead of him with the club.

down 0-2 at Lens, playing in the snow… hmmm… the Marseille players seem to be smiling and not too worried… Part of management’s plan to half-ass the CdF and concentrate on the other tournaments (CdL, Europa, Championnat)??

Mandanda totally flubbed that second goal (could have been an easy save)

Wow Justin, Took you time to wish Charles!

I want revenge against Monaco. Even a draw won’t suffice.

lol Aditya… Feb 8th was my Mom’s birthday, plus I had to pick up my long-term visa from the Consulat General de France in SF that day. Really busy.. I think Charles will be okay :)

and yes, I also want revenge against Monaco. I’m worried about the defense and have not checked the injury reports. Heinze is still recovering, yes?? We need fast central defenders to take Park out of the game and find a way to shut down their attack on both the right or left…

I’m a bit worried about Monaco because they match up well against OM, and their goalkeeper seemed to play at an elevated level against us last time..

I hope HBA puts up a solid effort like he did against Valenciennes, knowing that Monaco is a much better team…

If someone can take Nene out of the game now I doubt Monaco will score. Now we only need to beat Ruffier at least once.

If it wasn’t for Ruffier we would have won the match at Velodrome. Come on HBA show your best and tear Monaco apart bit by bit!

Btw, I just ordered a OM away jersey. That’s the first time I have ever ordered a soccer jersey!

Oh yes.. Ruffier was a beast against OM last time; his instincts were bordering on pre-cognition and his agile saves would have impressed Spiderman. I think he can be beat through the air. We must find a way to get through to goal.

Congrats on the OM shirt! I get a lot of nasty looks from PSG supporters in Suresnes and questions of “is your name Niang?” in the Bay Area lol
