Guillaume Hoarau is flirting with Marseille…

By: Magnusson | December 20th, 2007

hoarau-2.jpgRevelation of the Ligue 2 with Le Havre so far, Guillaume Hoarau (23 years old, 18 matches and 15 goals this season) is the most talked about striker this side of Karim Benzema. It is logical that the young goleador would be this much in demand by the Ligue 1 most prestigious clubs (except maybe Lyon who happen to have a younger and apparently more precocious if not more talented striker on their hands). It was looking as though he would be staying at Le Havre all season to help them get promoted at the end of the year, but the powerful striker (1m92 for 80 kilos) seems to now be considering a transfer. And in that perspective, ONE club seems to emerge in his mind:

“In my mind I’m beginning to figure it out. But no clear and definitive decision has been taken yet. However, it is clear that I am not going to wait until March or April to decide because otherwise I’m gonna find myself really harassed and my performances would suffer inevitably. I will focus on France and L1. This decision will serve my progression. OM does not really leaves me indifferent. This is a very great club that can allow a player to explode. then everything will remain to be seen as to in what context they are trying to recruit me. If it is to provide an extra striker to the bench, I’m not interested. On the contrary, if it is to shine in L1 and move forward then yes why not! “

Guillaume Hoarau knows the whole Canebière is in love with him and he’s sending them a strong message. He’s been seen 16 times by us and his agent visited the Commanderie monday morning, so this is basically the OK go Anigo and Diouf might have needed. That “forget everyone else and hire ME” speech we needed. Well, the ball is in your hands gentlemen, don’t drop it!

All I know is that he’s fast, strong an amazingly technical for someone this tall.
I think he can score in L1. Maybe not as much but this kids is one of the better ones.

Honestly, I don’t think the adjustment level is that much greater between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. It’ll take him a while since going to any new team is a tough prospect, especially midwinter, but he’s definitely top notch buy.

    Lyon already has Benzema.
What are they gonna do with a player who’s unproved to the L1. Like I said, they have enough money and appeal to get top notch french players who are already proven stars. Marseille still needs this kind of deals to get the Riberys, Valbuenas and Drogbas.
