Friday Evening News…

Djibril Cissé who has now openly said in the british press that he wouldn’t be back in France and that he would rather saty in England might not stay with the Black cats of Sunderland next season. While the red and whites expressed earlier this year that they would certainly be willing to pick up his contract’s options to make the sometime peroxided blond stay at the Stadium of Light. But apparently the club has been having a few financial difficulties lately and are not as able to pay him next season. Add that to the fact that the Pound has been falling off, this would bring in cost them three more million pounds than it would have in July.
After hearing the news, Pape Diouf, our President said that if Sunderland were not able to, there might be a lot of other clubs willing and ready to buy Djibril. To this answer, I’m ,asking myself, who?
It was bound to happen. Mamadou Niang will leave Marseille because the fantastic Senegalese striker who only bloomed later in his career deserves to go abroad and apparently we are witnessing some of his last games with out jersey on. According to this week’s France Football, Mamadou fired Jean-Pierre Bernès, an agent he used to share with Samir Nasri, Franck Ribéry, Zinédine Zidane, Peguy Luyindula and Jérémy Mathieu. He hired Karim Aklil, the relatively unknown agent of Elliott Grandin and some other young french players in order for this guy to secure him a deal this summer. If Arsenal have expressed interest earlier in his career, Sevilla still seems to be in love with his game. That would allow him to play with his buddy Fred Kanouté.
After leaving the pitch thirty minutes in the Le Mans game, Julien Rodriguez is once again out for three weeks. The “Taulier” is once again going to have to hang in there. Keep your head up, boss.
Vittorino Hilton is also another defender we won’t see for a few weeks. The Brazilian centre back tore a muscle and won’t be returning for two weeks as well.
Roanld zubar and Brandao are back in the group for the Caen match this weekend.

Niang is great, but he’s getting up there in age. i think l’OM needs to get a little bit younger, especially up front…

Niang is only 30. He would be irreplaceable unless they get Cisse back or Drogba and we already know they cant afford Drogba’s salary. Cisse its clear he dont want to come back so maybe he goes to another English team or I think maybe PSG or Monaco will make a push for him.

It would suck for me if Niang left the team. He’s my favorite attaquant, and like Sportboy wrote, he would be irreplaceable.
Cisse is not returning. Drogba is expensive and not as good anymore. Is there any way OM can still afford the great Mamadou Niang?
