Extra! Extra! Civelli is going back home…
By: Magnusson | August 3rd, 2007
When we were just getting familiar with the idea that Marseille was done with its (very tight) mercato, and that the only thing really missing was an additional striker to support Cissé (or Niang) when that becomes necessary, José Anigo and Pape Diouf throw us a curve by sending Renato Civelli out on a loan back to his own country to help him gain some more playing time. Marseille and argentinian side Gimnasia Del Plata came to an agreement on a season-long loan WITHOUT the possibility of making the deal permanent. It was getting crowded in the defense department with the arrivals of heavyweights Gaël Givet and Jacques Faty. Let’s just hope the kid comes back more mature and more focused on his games. He still needs to pass the traditional physical exam before joining the shores of Mar Del Plata.

He’s like the Cedric Carrasso of defending: One game brilliant, next game shitty as hell. Remember those two goals against Lille? That came out of left field.

Dude, you’ve been here 4 days and there’s no love sonnet dedicated to all things Samir Nasri? What gives?

I’m trying to pace myself. I already dedicated one to Samir on my personal blog and the post entitled “The chosen one” is waiting. When I know he’s back, you’ll be reading it. But come on the love note this week will be for Lorik Cana, our most underappreciated player behind Mamadou Niang.
