Cissé wants out…
By: Magnusson | June 11th, 2008
In his first interview since his spot was stolen by Bafétimbi Gomis, Djibril Cissé gave an interview to British newspaper The Observer where he states the fact the fact on what’s happening in that fortress that is his head. Djibril was found in Cheshire (this guy is weird. While every other player on the planet is on a beach somewhere, Lord of the Mannor Djib is chillin at his castle with his family). What everybody thought was bound to happen will happen. Djibril stayed two years at marseille and while many people believed he would have ha the smarts to stay one more year with the kind of coach that is Eric Gerets (Gerets transformed him into a more altruistic striker in just six months), hoping to become a world-class player and win something with us. Well not so much.
Despite being the best payed player in Ligue 1, Djibril might not have forgotten the way he was treated this winter when everyone was booing him (rightfully so! the guy scored 2 goals in the first 18 games of the season.), and now wants to go back to England, even though only second-rate clubs want him there:
‘It’s my wish now to be back in England. I had a good time in Marseille, but I really want to come back. My wife is from Wales and my family is here, but the main thing is the league. I think I am more of an English football type, I think it suits me better. I think if you are quick and strong – physically and mentally – you can do something in England. And I want to prove to everybody that I am a good player and I can do good things.’
That’s fair. If he wants to leave, my cynical opinion is that we can have other players who score less thaan Luyindula any year that cost much less. My opinion as someone who genuinely likes the kid is that playing for Bolton when you could play the Champions League and be a contender for Ligue 1 is stupid. He should call Nicolas Anelka and ask him. If he leaves now, I believe he will never ever play again for the National Team.
He also adds in the very heartfelt interview that he wants to play against Samir NAsri next year. He considers him his little brother and is still a supporter of the french team and believes we can win. You can head over to the Observer website and read the whiole thing.
A lot of fans I talked to in thre last two days responded by one thing: “Good riddance…”

This “England thing” is rather silly to be honest. Like kids playing in a sandbox who just noticed their neighbour got a new big & shiny box to play in. “Oww, but I wanna play in there..” *turns his head* “Moooom..” Dramatic but you get the picture
I really hope UEFA steps in with foreign some restrictions, cause I’ve no hope whatsoever in player’s loyalty or common sense these days.Posted from

In my mind, it’s all about money. For the middle level players, it’s all about how much money they can get. That’s really sad because they don’t value trophies.
